For Crying Out Loud
People are crying out loud for God in troubled parts of the world, or when their personal life is swirling the drain. Funny how when hard times come we cry out for Him, but pay Him no mind at all when things are going well. Fickle, fallen mankind.
God is our Creator; He is not an “it”. God, by the way, is spelled with a capital G to honor Him. He is not small g god, or "a" god. You are created in His divine image and likeness, even though you do not know this, because you have been indoctrinated all your life with the lie that you “evolved” from apes.
Just because you do not know Him, does not mean He does not exist. "The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, 'There is no God.'" Psalm 10:4.
He has a claim on Your life - because He created you for His own loving purposes, but when our ancestors anciently rebelled against Him, having been coerced, they got all snarled up with the evil one (who hates Him and you, and has deceived you), and this world was handed over to the evil one, who is often called the “god" of this world.
But he is not God, or even a god. He is a fallen angel masquerading as an angel of light and goodness.
God came as Jesus Christ to ransom you from that traitor by dying in human form on a cross and paying the blood ransom that was on your head, to set you free from the powers of darkness and death, which is what you have been in servitude to, but don’t even know it.
So God has a claim on you also by way of His redeeming you in Jesus Christ. You belong to Him. He has provided a way out of subjugation to sin, death, and the devil. He intends to restore you as a citizen of the kingdom of heaven.
Stop running. There is nothing to fear of Him. Your own fallen, rebellious self has made a mess of your life in complicity with the evil one because you have been deceived. We're not made to go it alone, let alone be the "captains of our soul.” That’s just not how it works.
If this touched your heart, then please surrender your entire being (body, soul, and spirit) and life, without holding back, to Him before it's too late. His Holy Spirit is calling to you.
“Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts…’” Hebrews 3:7,8.
He yearns to set you free from the chains that bind you, lift from you the darkness that blinds you. He can open your inner hearing so that may perceive His voice (through His word) and follow Him under the power of His Holy Spirit.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” John 3:16-21.
This is the simple truth of how things work. There is also utter forgiveness for all past sins, for the one who will believe and receive the free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus. His desire is to unburden you of the spiritual darkness that has thus far kept you in bondage and struggling.
His Holy Spirit is calling to you, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28,29.
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Acts 2:21.
You have God’s word on it!
