Lord, Hear Our Prayer

Jan. 28, 2019

May we all who are so inclined give thanks, pray, and agree together that God's hand will keep in check the severe winter storms headed for our Great Lakes region and other areas of the USA. May He Who has power over wind and wave protect especially the poor, the homeless, the marginalized, the frail and elderly living alone, who have little or nothing, those who are ill, and also all lost or abandoned animals, or any in danger of losing their life due to exposure to the elements such as farm animals and wildlife. If He wishes to provide for any need through us during this time, may it be so. May the Almighty One also protect the utilities, power lines, and all infrastructures which we so often take for granted to keep our homes and places of business warm, well lit, and safe. And let's give thanks for His lovingkindness always. Amen.

Father God, You have graciously granted us yet another new beginning. Please let Your Holy Spirit descend upon all who call on your name and seek to bring praise and honor to You. We know that You have called us to You because You are steadfast love Who is also omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent - Who desires for us to be restored to every good thing that our redemption in Jesus Christ has won for us. Reveal to us Your purpose for us - that for which You have created and redeemed us. According to your directive to us, help us to devote ourselves to prayer, keep alert in it, and always with an attitude of thanksgiving. Let 2019 be the year when this begins to unfold. Please let this be the year when all Your people begin to really take prayer seriously. For we know that we are Your "warriors", and that we do not wage war against flesh and blood, but must arm ourselves against the unseen powers of darkness who are the adversaries against Your loving will for us. Teach us to pray, Heavenly Father, and let this year be commended to You for that purpose, in Jesus mighty name, to Whom has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, Amen.

Father God, we come to you in the holy name of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are trying times, and those whom You have called into positions of leadership in this world, and in the church, have a very important mission to fulfill, to lead and to serve your people everywhere - the human race You created and for whom Your Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood that it might be redeemed and restored to fellowship with You.

Your servants are greatly being challenged, Father God - from within the organizations and offices they hold, as well as their enemies in the physical world.

But especially the confrontation comes from the very powers of darkness, which seek to undermine Your will and Your plan on this earth, in the spirtual realm. And of this far too many are unaware and often without a clue as to how we are, as members of one another in Jesus, to be about our Father's business. And it is because of this that we ask that we may be given the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, so that we may know what our calling is. Empower us with understanding concerning these things. Grant us repentance that we may be pure of heart toward You, to be able to stand against the darkness that seeks to destroy all the gracious good that you desire for our nation and for the entire world.

Let us stand finally, being strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. as we put on the full armor of God, so that we will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, in the name of Jesus Christ, we who are called by Your name take up the full armor of God, and we  stand to resist the darkness in this evil day, and having done everything, we now stand firm. We stand with our loins girded with Truth, and we put on the breastplate of righteousness. May our feet be shod with the Gospel of peace. Let us take up the shield of faith with which we will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And let us put on the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. With all prayer and petition we pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, let us be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints!

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh or our will, but of the very power of the Holy Spirit of God. And in the name of Jesus Christ thus fully armed, we bind every evil intent, thought, word, or deed that is sent forth which comes against the will and purpose of God, which seeks to do harm or havoc against His chosen - in any level of life or leadership. In Jesus' name we bind also every such practitioner of darkness and wickedness now and forever, that their evil will fall back on itself, and never reach its intended target and be utterly disempowered at all times and in all places. In the name of Jesus, let the salvation won by His precious blood be loosed upon all dark practitioners, that they may repent of their evil deeds, and may also come to know the freedom, love, joy, and forgiveness of Christ, and be saved from the evil one they have been serving.

We acknowledge and give You praise, Lord God, that the day soon comes when every knee shall bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, to You glory, Heavenly Father. Please grant an outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon all your people such as has never been seen before, that Your saints may rise to the challenge of this day and time in the strength of the Lord and the power of Your might. And let us remember that our Lord has come to destroy the works of the evil one and also to set free and bring many to glory, so that we are ever mindful of our mission.

To You now and forever be all worship, honor, power, might, and praise, in the holy name of Jesus Christ our risen and living Savior and Lord! Amen.

How brightly, Heavenly Father, shine the lights which You have strewn across the darkness of the night sky! We give You thanks at the end of this day, as it moves into the next, for these.

But especially do we give You thanks for the brightness of Your own dear Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Whose radiance shone forth from above, Who came into this world bearing the Good News of Your infinite love for humankind, and by His shed holy blood set us free from spiritual darkness and captivity, so that we may walk out of the darkness in which we were imprisoned, and may live freely, and worship You in spirit and in truth.

Grant us ever increasing knowledge of this renewed life, your gift of grace to us, dear Lord. Please give to our hearts understanding. Release for our bodies rest, and inner peace this night. Grant us hearts renewed, and create in us Your own Spirit, that we may be healed and set free from within, as we live in the salvation which You have provided in our Lord Jesus Christ, in Whose name we commend ourselves into Your care and keeping, now and forever.

On this Lord’s Day, dearest Jesus, we remember and give You thanks for Your Resurrection and the joy that is ours unendingly because of it! Moreover we stand in awe of the miracle that, as we have died with You, so we are raised up with You, and have been justified, sanctified, and glorified! Indeed You have shown us that even now we are seated with You in the heavenly places. Let our lives reflect this marvelous truth!!! Let all of heaven and earth sing ceaseless praise to You for the wonder of salvation! For there is no other means or Name whereby this could have ever been accomplished, except through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and the ransom by His blood.

Help us always, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to live by faith as a people who have been set free from the prison of self, sin, and Satan. You have translated us into the kingdom of Your glorious life and light, that we may follow and serve you in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness. We rejoice that You have set us free from death, restored and reconciled us to the Father, and that in due time even our bodies will be quickened with immortality and raised up to live forever with You in the heavenly places. What shall we render to You, Lord, for all Your benefits to us? But let us give thanks and call upon Your name always until our journey here below is complete.

Grant that not only today, on this Lord’s Day, but every day, we may join with all the saints, angels, and all the heavenly host in heavenly joy, as we all lift up our voices and cry, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of Your glory. Let us never be timid in our praise of You, for You are worthy to be praised, both here below and in eternity forever and ever.

Let our life be as one song of harmony with You, Abba, and with all who are in heaven and on earth and in all of creation, rejoicing in You and giving You eternal praise. We sing with the heavens which tell of Your glory, and we give You thanks and praise for the harmony of workings of all things in nature, in the cosmos, and in the celestial abodes - many mysteries which will yet unfold.

Let all our work be praise, song, and prayer - as we complete the tasks and duties which You have prepared for us throughout the week. Let our hearts be light with the glory of Your radiance! And let every day and night be spent in the contemplation of Your word, statues, testimonies, and law. For we know that therein is Your wisdom and Your blessing, so that we may joyously walk in You each and every day. Thank You, Abba Father, for this brand new week full of Your blessing, love, wisdom, forgiveness, and peace - and joy unspeakable and full of glory. Abba Father, let us live this to the honor of Your Holy name in Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord. Amen.
