To See Or Not To See
For consideration and contemplation: John 16:5-11.
The Holy Spirit, Who has been poured out on all flesh, is seldom given His due. The risen ascended Christ is “seen” no longer according to physical eyes but by the eyes of the human spirit to whom the Holy Spirit brings conviction of sin, either to repentance and reception of the Gospel (the completed work of Christ and it’s unfolding within the human being by the indwelling Spirit), or rejection of it.
Might this seeing by the eyes of the spirit be the real understanding to Revelation 1:7? “... every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.”
While everybody looks for a physical Jesus somehow magically appearing to every eye physically, maybe even in the iCloud (!), the whole greater reality is being missed, as the Holy Spirit reveals Him and His work to the inner comprehensions of the human spirit!
This is why Jesus had to go away as a physical person and then send the Holy Spirit upon ALL FLESH! It was for the benefit of every human being. Every eye will see Him! They will all mourn coming under conviction of their lost condition and sin. Some with sadness because they will not let go of the world and the flesh to receive Him. Others with godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Surrendering all to Him and His completes work! Referring to the latter, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4.
Romans 10:14-16. Let us not forget the need for those who are called to proclaim the Gospel and the church wherein it is to be brought to fruition!
