Ask For The Ancient Paths

Who does not admit to at least feeling this way?

"Fear and trembling grip me, and horror has overwhelmed me. I said, Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and find rest. How far away I would flee! In the wilderness I would remain..." Psalm 55:5-7.

The entire psalm makes for prayerful thought. Today in 2021 we fear an "unseen hand," although it has been revealed bit by bit for 20 years, and is now in our face. They want us to wear face coverings, while their faces are being unmasked for who the real players are. Not to mention who they report to. This has been in place much longer than 20 years.

But here the Psalmist speaks of a betrayer who had been close to him! (:12-14) "For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, And walked to the house of God in the throng."

Likely this foreshadows Judas. Specific Judas. Or Judas types in general. People with information and a price for it. Even if it's not monetary. For example the glory of being the small time snitch who wants to report his neighbor or even fellow church goers.

Times like this reveal who they are, and it is frequently very surprising. We should be aware that in this "revealing" or "apocalypse" through which we travel, may well bring to our awareness that those we know or even feel close to will emerge as betrayers.

What was it the Q movement said - "Where one goes, we go all"? (Not a follower of that, but I recall the byline.)

In a sense that is the very thing that happens to those who follow Christ. Where the Head goes, there goes the Body. To and through the cross. It can often include betrayal.

Not time to run. Time to stay the course.

"And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: We give thanks to You, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were enraged, and Your wrath has come. The time has come to judge the dead and to reward Your servants the prophets, as well as the saints and those who fear Your name, both small and great - and to destroy *those who destroy the earth.”
Revelation 11:17-18

*Those who destroy the earth have been making war against it and against humankind, since the beginning of time, with the most recent tactics which include polluting and poisoning the air and skies, polluting the water, genetically modifying the food, and now humans themselves with their Little Demon which they are trying to force on all (whom they blame for "climate anomilies" and the like because they think there are too many of us).

War is already being waged on many levels in addition to these. There are psychological and emotional wars on men's minds with lies and propaganda ad nauseam. Not the least of which is an all out spiritual assault on the Church, the real Ground Zero, for She is the very Body of Christ, despised by the god of this world.

The last word does not belong to those who destroy the Earth, with a view to setting themselves up as gods under the usurper god of this world. There is a comeuppance heading their way. They know it, but they still stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the Creator, King of kings, and Lord of lords.

He has been patient.

"For behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind." Isaiah 65:17

"as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace - spotless and blameless in His sight." 2 Peter 3:12-14.

Suggestion: Also read, pray about, and meditate on Psalm 37. Give thanks, for God is faithful to His promises!

I share these verses because they help to guide me a lot, when I get down in the dumps, and I also hope they will do someone else some good. I find this passage to be a good "RX" for the times, when perplexity and anxiety seem to have the upper hand.

From Philippians 4. "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

1) Rejoice always.
2) Practice gentleness.
3) Substitute worry/anxiety with prayer expressing thankfulness... to find your way to the peace of God.

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things."

4) Contemplate / meditate on the "whatevers" - whatever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, praiseworthy. Contemplating isn't always a head trip. It can be physical involvement - a walk by the beach, a stroll through an art museum, the enjoyment of good music, reading a well crafted poem or book... being kind to someone without expecting anything in return. (Just my ideas. You know what your own favorite things are.)

Contemplation is not woo woo either. One thing, for example, that's gotten away from us is taking the time to write someone a letter, in your own hand, not typed on a computer. That takes time. It takes thinking about the recipient and how to bless them with your own words. It's participation in life on some level in a conscious way. And last but not least...

"The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:4-9

5) Whatever is learned, received, heard, and seen in Paul he charges the church to DO, to practice. (He is not boastfully pointing to himself, but to the Christ working in and through him. To do otherwise would be out of character for an Apostle.)

Broadly speaking, it is good to study and emulate not only the figures in Scripture, but the saints and martyrs down through the ages. (The Church didn't end with the last chapter of Acts. The Bible with roughly the same content as we have been blessed with now was not a finished "book" until some 300 years later.) There are so many vast treasures in terms of priceless vessels whom God has given to us as "Christ bearers," filled with the Holy Spirit. We can learn from them. Their stories are found throughout church Tradition and history. Their gifts, given by God, are for the edification of the Church. There is no end to the blessings!

The result of this "doing"? "The God of peace will be with you."

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23:6.

"The Lord IS at hand." The omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent One - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Yes, I'm old fashioned.

Our young women should NOT be sent to the front lines to be cannon fodder - ruined spiritually, mentally, and physically for the rest of their lives. I'm personally sick and tired of seeing these posts of young Veteran women with their limbs missing. This country and any country that sends its women off to combat is headed in the wrong direction, and my oh my, can't we just see that anyway by so many other indicators?

How tragically they have been misguided! Another feminist nightmare that women buy into.

Women and children have traditionally been DEFENDED by the male warriors in their tribes and nationalities. It was honorable! When it was necessary. Not in the defense of the interests of multinational corporations who run the politicians. But this is also another way to feminize and weaken men, reducing everyone down to denial of God ordained differences between men and women.

I'm a Veteran myself. But please, DON'T thank me for my service! I mean it. I'm ashamed of what the military is being turned into. My hitch was at a time when women were not sent off to battle, but did supportive work. They were RESPECTED enough as women, as females, wives, moms, sisters, to not put them into combat. That meant something in the days when we were not having genderless equality shoved down our throats, in the name of patriotism. Personally I find this trend disgusting, along with a lot of other directions this government is taking.

It's bad enough that the young men are sent! As far as I'm concerned, they are all regarded as blood sacrifices for the god of this world.

Whose "freedoms" are really being defended? It's time we stopped the idolatry of war. This country doesn't need anymore "God bless America" prayers. It needs to repent of its bloodguilt.

Just a few notes and thoughts from the rabbit hole.

"Babylon's" Fall. See whole chapter Revelation 18, but this verse is of particular interest...

Revelation 18:23 NKJV. "The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your SORCERY all the nations were deceived."

Sorcery: Pharmakeia (far-mak-i'-ah) φαρμακεία / Strong's G5332; medication (pharmacy) that is (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery witchcraft.

Are the "lights" going out in Babylon? - The Light of the World, the Light of His Word, the Light of truth on any level? It is Babylon's sorcery that deceives, its pharmakeia.

It is also noteworthy that the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard anymore. Why not? Sterilized by receiving The Little Demon?

The fallen angel Shemyaza (another name for Azazel) was said by the Book of Enoch to have taught humans the use of "root cuttings" and the magical art of enchantments. "Pharmakeia" is thought by some to "have its roots" (pardon the pun) in this ancient disturbing deception and interference with humanity - the pinnacle of God's creation.

21st Century enchantments?

Just sayin'...
